Painting exhibition – Emmanuelle Bertrand

From 1 to 15 August, some fifteen paintings by Emmanuelle Bertrand will be on display at the Tourist Office. It will be possible to come and see them every day from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.

Presentation of the artist

A taste for art since childhood, even before I knew it was art. I was always touched by what appeared beautiful to my eyes and heart.

I fell in love with pottery at the age of 7. Years passed, long and distant trips too. And the evidence of touching the earth.

Courses, workshops, … sudden stop. How to compensate? Painting of course!

Self-taught, from trial and error to small finds, the canvases are covered with paint, a rather expressionist style, falsely naive. I envisage several registers: the self-portrait and the sheep which have a personal and intimate character; the Everyday: the sea, fish, cows, nature.

But no matter the name, the label, these paintings, once they are seen by others, no longer belong to me. Everyone will find in them, or not, all or part of their own history that touches them.

And the earth returns like a boomerang for my greatest pleasure. I share it with you too.
