Nathalie Demanet Exhibition
The Tourist Office invites you to visit this exhibition by the artist Nathalie Demanet from 12 to 25 October 2023. You will be able to see the works every day in our offices from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm.
Let the artist introduce herself:
“I’m a painter from Namur by birth, I live in the province of Liège. I’ve been painting for 30 years.
I’ve always drawn, but it was at the age of 24 that I discovered my passion for oil painting. At first I started on my own, but then I followed my friend on a 4-year course with Henry Somers. He’s an impressionist painter from the Gesves region. I learned a lot about light and shade from him.
As a hairdresser and colourist, I know all about mixing colours, which is an asset for my art.
I was to immortalise still lifes and landscapes for a few years, but I had a revelation for the nude after visiting the exhibition of the artist Alice Laverty in Paris. The artistic nude then became my favourite subject, but since August 2022 I’ve felt the need to reach a different audience, because the nude is not accepted or even refused in some exhibitions, so I started painting children from here and elsewhere. It became an addiction, my art therapy.
My paintings reflect my personality: spontaneous, free and strong. “
So come along and see this exhibition by Nathalie Demanet.
